On February 13th, 2018 our President and Co-Founder Steve Feldman was privileged to attend the Bernstein 2018 IMPACT Conference in West Palm Beach, Florida. The conference focused on the growing “impact-investing” movement and how businesses are balancing potential financial gains with social good.
The Program
The program began with a welcome from Evan C. Deoul, Senior Managing Director of Bernstein. The evening was an education in the diverse efforts within the wealth management industry to foster investments in companies and non-profits with a positive social impact.
The keynote speaker was globally recognized leader in sustainable investing, Barbara Krumsiek. Her professional background spans four decades in the asset management field. Most recently, she was President, CEO and Chair (1997-2014) of Calvert Investments, Inc., a $12 Billion asset management firm known for its focus on environmental, governance and corporate social responsibility performance of companies.
Ms. Krumsiek was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Mutual Fund Industry Awards in March, 2016. She received Columbia University Business School’s Botwinick Prize in Business Ethics in 2012 and is a Washington Business Hall of Fame Laureate. She was named in Ethisphere’s 2015 list of the 100 Most Influential in Business Ethics.
