2017 A Year in Review

2017 was an exciting time of growth for Renovation Angel and our luxury recycling mission. In addition to the uptick in luxury furniture, art, and home good donations, we were also featured several times in major luxury publications. Our Industry and Charitable partners were engaging, inspiring, and focused on helping us spread the recycling message. It was a remarkable year, and the best is yet to come!

Industry Partners

Our partnership with design/build industry icon Walker Zanger continues to flourish. We were jointly featured in the Spring 2017 edition of Unique Homes Magazine. Renovation Angel President Steve Feldman and Walker Zanger Vice President of Marketing Jared Becker spoke with Sarah Binder for her “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle…And Renovate” feature article.

“We want to bring awareness to what Renovation Angel is doing and raise awareness for home recycling, which is still in its infancy. We hope to show people that when they are taking apart a room, the materials and products don’t have to go to the dumpster,” explained Jared Becker.

Additionally, our continued partnership with Sub-Zero and Wolf helps us to spread the luxury kitchen recycling message in cities across the nation.

Charity Partners in 2017

With great pride Renovation Angel has continued our support of FOCUS North America with a $30,000 grant in support of their Holiday Meal Program. You can read more about their efforts HERE.

“Many people are shocked to discover that the average age of a homeless person in the United States is nine, ” said FOCUS Executive Director Seraphim Dankaert.

He continued:

“Can you imagine being a young child or parent without proper housing, nutritious food, or winter clothes? Thanks to the generosity of Renovation Angel, 600 families who have just transitioned out of homelessness received groceries, winter clothing, toys, and household items. They don’t have to face the holidays alone. We’re so grateful for Renovation Angel’s leadership in making this outreach to New York City families possible, and look forward to doing more together in the future.”

2017

In 2017, Renovation Angel partnered with Chicago based charity Designs for Dignity (D4D). The Chicago-based organization provides pro bono design expertise and materials to qualifying nonprofits. The result is the renovation and modernization of their key program and treatment spaces, a change that helps those nonprofits better serve their immediate populations.

“Designs for Dignity is honored to be chosen by Renovation Angel as a charity partner,” states Jennifer Sobecki, CEO, Designs for Dignity. “The act of recycling is a win-win for both organizations — we maintain our sustainability goals by redeploying amazing kitchens, lighting and other residential items to Renovation Angel, all while supporting our organization, as well.”

On March 25, 2017 our President Steve Feldman presented a $5,000 check to the Foothills Animal Rescue team at their “Paws to Celebrate” event in Scottsdale, Arizona. For the past 20 years, Foothills Animal Rescue has been dedicated to reducing the homeless pet population in the Scottsdale, Arizona community.

Through rescue, care and adoption services that matches the animals in their care with loving families they attempt to provide orphaned animals with the love, shelter, food and medical care they deserve.

With their vibrant thrift store boutique being the primary source of their annual funding, Foothills Animal Rescue exemplifies the socially conscious and entrepreneurial spirit that Renovation Angel hopes to encourage. They are an outstanding example of our social entrepreneurship mission, and we are very proud to welcome them as one of 2017’s  Charitable Partners!

Looking Forward

As we move forward into 2018, with many exciting projects on the horizon, we want to thank all of our industry advocates and partners for their unwavering support of the luxury recycling mission. Thank you to our fabulous donors, and to our amazing staff who keep the wheels turning… The Renovation Angel team runs like a family, and as a family, we want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!
