This week’s Industry Spotlight is our longtime friend and Industry Advocate, Kimball Derrick! Read on to learn more about his two-time Sub-Zero & Wolf winner.
Award-Winning Luxury Kitchen Designer
Kimball Derrick’s classical background in architecture and photography helped him to become a nationally award-winning designer. His official design story started when he partnered with his father to open a custom woodworking business in 1981. This esteemed business evolved into KD and Steele Cabinetry in 1985.
In 2001, he became a Certified Kitchen Designer and opened the Kitchen Design Studio in Cincinnati. His creative reputation grew, and soon he became one of the most sought after kitchen designers working on projects across the country. His kitchen designs have been featured in over 100 national, regional and local magazines. 
Kimball has served as President of Southern Ohio Chapter of National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), and was on the Board of the Bath and Kitchen Buying Group.
As a two-time winner of the Sub-Zero and Wolf Regional Design Competition he has cemented his position in the Ohio design firmament. So much so that Sub-Zero and Wolf asked him to serve on the Judges Panel for the same competition!
He is currently working on a project in Naples, Florida, and just finished a major design renovation with his interior designer wife, Leslie, for the mid-west Sub-Zero group and Tisdel Distributering in Cincinnati.
A Renovation Angel Advocate
Kimball and his wife Leslie Derrick have both been staunch advocates of the Renovation Angel mission, and a huge fan of our luxury kitchen recycling process. Over the years they have sent us many different projects, but the most recent is described below.

This Project Spotlight comes from a beautiful 7000 square foot waterfront home in Naples, Florida. This architect designed kitchen included a donation of a full suite of luxury Sub-Zero, Thermador, and Bosch appliances.
