This week’s Industry Spotlight is on a company that Renovation Angel has been honored to work with for many years: Hobbs, Inc.
50 Years of Tradition
For over three generations Hobbs has been serving the luxury community throughout Connecticut, New York (including NYC), the Hamptons, and Rhode Island. They are experts in high-end custom-builds and renovations, and are known for dedication to quality, consistency, and craftsmanship. In fact one of their library renovations was featured in the magazine Wired.
Industry Leading Green Technology
Hobbs is also dedicated to offering ec0-friendly green options. Implementing these strategies is the responsibility of their Environmental Construction Division. This team includes project management and field supervisory professionals trained in the LEED for Homes™ program and accredited through the US Green Building Council.
Continued Home-Build Support
In addition to their award winning building options, they also offer a wonderful estate management program called Hobbs Care. This comprehensive service handles everything from property maintenance to updating millwork, cabinetry, and refinishing, as well as custom new builds and retrofitting.
A Successful Relationship
In 2005, our President and Co-Founder Steve Feldman first met with Scott Hobbs to introduce him to our kitchen recycling program. Mr. Hobbs was very impressed with our concept and since then has been a huge supporter of the kitchen recoiling movement!
“We have been working with Steve in his mission since its inception. Nobody likes wasting valuable resources, but figuring out a way to get used (but still really nice) materials from a home to be renovated or demolished into the hands of a willing customer was too hard for most people to figure out. Steve did it. The fact that he serves a higher purpose is simply icing on the cake of great professional service.” – Scott Hobbs, Hobbs Inc.
The relationship has produced many projects over the years. Below are two examples of kitchen donations that we received from Hobbs, Inc.
2012 – Rye, NY
A 8,400 square foot home on 2.8 acres in Rye, NY with views of the Long Island Sound.
2014 – Southport, CT
A 7,143 square foot home on 1.86 acres in Southport, CT with views of Southport Harbor.
