This week marks the 13th anniversary of Renovation Angel’s luxury kitchen recycling mission! Since our inception we’ve been an organization dedicated to the social-entrepreneurship model, and it’s with great pride that we can announce the following milestones:
– Recycled 5,700 kitchens
– Earned 2.2 million for charitable projects
– Diverted millions of pounds of waste from landfills
– Created over 20 million dollars worth of jobs
As we celebrate 13 years we’d like to take a moment to say Thank You to all of our advocates and supporters. Thank you for helping us spread this recycling message! Read on for a recap of some of our latest happenings.
Revisiting Greenwich
In 2005, our founder Steve Feldman created our luxury recycling concept in Greenwich, Connecticut. (More on that story here.) With that rich history in mind, it seemed almost kismet when we were invited to participate in the Fourth Annual Family Polo Day sponsored by the Luxury Marketing Council (LMC) of Connecticut-Hudson Valley. In collaboration with the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce, the LMC produced a wonderful afternoon of fun at the Greenwich Polo Club.
Renovation Angel was also a co-sponsor of the event as we connected with old and new friends to celebrate our 13 years!
Live On ABC
This month, we were also very honored to have been a topic of conversation on ABC’s CT STYLE. The segment featured lifestyle expert JoJo Pastors, and celebrity realtor from Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing television show, Amy Herman Schechter. They introduced their television viewership to the concept of luxury recycling and repurposing of pre-owned luxury kitchens, baths, furniture and other home renovation items.
From Las Vegas to NYC
In recent months, Renovation Angel has traveled from NYC to Las Vegas and back again! Our first exciting event was the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) at the world renown Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City.
ICFF showcases an unparalleled grouping of the world’s finest, most innovative and original avant-garde home and contract products side-by-side, under one roof.
This marked Renovation Angel’s debut at ICFF, and what an amazing time it was! Special thank you to master artisans, Sarah Raskey and Javier Gomez, for letting us feature their work in our Renovation Angel booth.
After NYC, our founder Steve Feldman flew to Las Vegas to introduce Renovation Angel’s recycling/repurposing mission at the P.A.C.S. expo.
For nearly 30 years Pro-Athletes Celebrity Services (P.A.C.S.) has provided professional and celebrity athlete members with premiere professional resources for successfully navigating “Life after League” to achieve their goals on and off the field.
Part of Steve’s mission while there was to connect with individuals looking to find new and unique ways to engage in Social Impact Philanthropy. “I wanted to introduce Renovation Angel as a potential option for their own charity toolkits,” he said. “Many of these athletes have foundations or charities of their own, and are always looking to find ways to use their network or resources for fundraising.”
