A Family Tradition Continues
DEANE, Inc was founded in 1961 by Raymond Girard in Pound Ridge, NY. He was the father-in-law of Peter M. Deane, who moved the business to Fairfield County in 1980. Today his children, Peter Deane and Carrie Deane Corcoran, manage the two showrooms in Stamford and New Canaan, Connecticut. They proudly adhere to the historical mission that has guided the business through three generations.
“We know lots of families just like ours with a generation (or two) that grew up in our rooms and who are now enjoying new DEANE rooms of their own,” said Peter Deane. “Maybe that’s why we maintain that we’re not just in the custom cabinetry business, the kitchen business, or even the home design business.” With great pride he continued, “We’re in the wish-fulfillment business. And we love it.”
The DEANE, Inc. family honors its legacy by providing the highest-quality custom cabinetry, innovative and compelling interior design, superior craftsmanship and outstanding customer service. They have designed countless rooms in Connecticut, Westchester, and New York City. In addition, they are often requested to do projects in Florida, Massachusetts and other states at many of their clients’ second homes.
Today, they are dedicated to maintaining their old-fashioned work ethic, while embracing a company-wide passion for excellence and innovative design. In 2004, DEANE, Inc. gave Renovation Angel one of our first pilot projects. It was a gorgeous white custom kitchen from New Canaan, CT which we sold on Ebay (2 years before we opened our first store). This sale helped us to confirm what a huge value a pre-owned kitchen could have for charity in the future.
